Do I need a MD Handgun Qualification License (HQL) to take the MD Wear & Carry Course?

No. After you get your Wear & Carry permit you can get your HQL for free.

How long does it take to get my Wear & Carry permit?

At the moment it is taking about 60 days for MSP to process permit applications. By law MSP had 90 days to approve or deny any permit application.

Can I rent a firearm and ammo for the qualification?

Yes. We have several firearms and can provide ammo for a separate fee.

Can I get a MD Wear & Carry permit if I have a MD medical cannabis card?

Yes. However, individuals with medical cannabis cards are prohibited from purchasing a firearm. Further questions please direct to the Maryland State Police 410-653-4500.

Do you have any caliber restrictions for the qualification?

Yes. The smallest pistol caliber we allow is .380. We do not allow students to qualify with a .22.

If I have to cancel a class after I book, can I get my deposit returned?

No. All deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice you can apply your deposit to any course within 1 year of booking.
